Both Miles College and Benedict College advanced in down-to-the wire games to begin the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament at Bill Harris Arena at the Birmingham Crossplex Monday.
The Golden Bears, seeded No. 5 in the western half of the bracket, came into the tourney with 23 losses but came back from down 15 to down No. 4E Clark-Atlanta 76-74 on a layup by Shelby County High product guard Ty Lollar with 1.9 seconds to go.
