DOVER, Delaware -- Delaware State is expected to name its new football head coach at a press conference on Wednesday afternoon.
The event is slated for 2 p.m. in the administration building on campus. A press release said only that school president Harry Williams and athletic director Candy Young will “share the details concerning this important development in the Hornet football program.”
Delaware State has been without a full-time head football coach since Kermit Blount was fired on Dec. 16. In four seasons, Blount coached the Hornets to a 16-29 overall record, including a 13-19 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
“We’re looking for someone who can motivate our young men and teach them life skills,” Young said at the time. “We want a program that is successful on the field and off the field.”
