HAMPTON, Virginia -- Hampton University head football coach Connell Maynor, preparing for his second season at the helm, announced his 2015 signing class of Wednesday as part of National Signing Day, a slate of 19 players.
"Very pleased and excited with the 2015 signing class," Maynor said. "I think we addressed some of the areas we needed … signing five defensive linemen, five linebackers, two defensive backs. So we're heavy on the defensive side, and I think that was one of our weakest areas last season.
"We've also got some guys who can step in and help us right now, which was what we were trying to do … as we try to get back to our championship ways here at Hampton."
