CHARLOTTE, North Carolina -- The McDonald's Queen City Battle of the Bands marches into Charlotte’s Memorial Stadium on Aug. 29, featuring some of the top-performing marching bands from Historically Black Colleges and Universities. The competition returns to Charlotte for its third year and is expected to attract over 10,000 fans, students and alumni.
As the event draws closer, we talked to Derek L. Webber, the man responsible for organizing and promoting the annual event.
