GRAMBLING, Louisiana — Another milestone toward Grambling's sudden football resurgence occurred over the weekend when the Tigers clinched a spot in the Southwestern Athletic Conference championship game next month in Houston.
The win, which came on the road at Arkansas-Pine Bluff, came more than two years after the program hit rock bottom with a player revolt that eventually led to the start of a new era of Grambling football.
Since that 1-11 season, Grambling has gone 15-7 and can now call itself the 2015 SWAC West Division champs.
On Monday, Tigers defensive coordinator Everett Todd wasn't so sure the turnaround had registered with Grambling's players.
