MARTINSVILLE, Virginia -- Magna Vista quarterback Shoalin McGuire has announced his intentions to play his college football at North Carolina Central University (NCCU) in Durham, N.C.
The NCCU Eagles play in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) in the Football Championship Subdivision of the NCAA. The Eagles are 6-3 on the season and 5-1 in conference play in 2015.
The 6-foot-2, 200-pound, dual-threat standout has posted a second consecutive stellar season for the Warriors, leading them back to the Region 3A West playoffs as the No. 4 seed this season after claiming the state title last year.
In his most notable game this season, McGuire posted six passing touchdowns in the first half of a win over Halifax County. McGuire has been able to find the endzone both through the air and on the ground throughout his senior season.
McGuire also was being recruited by Norfolk State and Delaware, among several others, according to rivals.com.
