S.C. State men's basketball opens season at CofC

CHARLESTON, South Carolina — The South Carolina State (0-0, 0-0 MEAC) men’s basketball team will open season play Friday (Nov. 13) on the road against The College of Charleston (0-0, 0-0 CAA) at TD Arena/John Kresse Court (5,100). Tipoff is 7 p.m. (ET).

• GAME INFORMATION: TV (None); Radio (College of Charleston Radio Network (ESPN Radio 910 AM)

• SERIES HISTORY: College of Charleston leads series 11-8. The last time the Bulldogs defeated the Cougars was on Jan. 22, 1992, 60-52 in Orangeburg, S.C.

• LAST MEETING: The last time the two teams met South Carolina State dropped a heartbreaking 50-47 (12/11/14) loss to the College of Charleston at TD Arena in Charleston, SC.

• OUTLOOK: Last season the Bulldogs finished seventh in the MEAC with an 11-22 overall, 7-9 MEAC record. Meanwhile the Cougars under the direction of first-year head coach Earl Grant finished the 2014-15 campaign 9-24 overall, 3-15 in the CAA.

• SCOUTING THE TEAMS: Despite, finishing 9-24 last season.
