MEAC Announces Weekly Bowling Honors

NORFOLK, Virginia — Delaware State junior Aleixis Neuer and North Carolina A&T State junior Tyra Merritt were named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Co-Bowlers of the Week, the conference office announced today.

Neuer (Jr., Lewisburg, Pa.) was the top individual, earning tournament MVP honors at the Caldwell Cougar Classic this past weekend, posting an average of 202.67 in traditional play. She led Delaware State to a third-place finish in the tournament, bowling three 200 games over the weekend, including a 235 against Sacred Heart.

Merritt (Jr., Tampa, Fla.) averaged 208.4 pins in traditional play at the McKendree BearCat Open, the 11th-best average for the weekend. She had three 200 games, helping the Aggies to a fourth-place finish overall a 4-1 mark in traditional play, and she bowled a career-high 249 over the weekend.

Other Top Performers
Paulina Torres (MDES) had the sixth-best individual average at the Caldwell Cougar Classic at 186.3 and bowled a 216 twice.
