Southern prepares to host JSU for the first time since 2015



BATON ROUGE, Louisiana -- On the heels of a two-game winning streak, Southern University officials are preparing for a large turnout when the Jaguars host rival Jackson State on Saturday, Oct. 20th at A.W. Mumford Stadium for the first time since 2015.

General Admission Parking permits are $10 and will be available for purchase on gameday. Permits will be sold at all three entrances - Harding Boulevard, Swan Avenue and Mill Avenue - to the Baton Rouge campus.

Fans seeking General Admission Parking are urged to use the left lane when coming over the Harding Overpass and proceed to the traffic checkpoint near Seymour Gym. Parking will available from the ROTC building to the Bluffs near Bethune Hall entrance.

For patrons who access the campus via Swan Avenue, parking is available in the General Admission parking lot located behind Southern Lab after making a right at the caution light at Swan.



General Admission Parking will also be available for fans who enter the campus from Mills Avenue starting behind the Southern University Law Center.

Fans are advised that traffic routes are subject to change due to official orders from Louisiana State Police on Gameday.

Athletics Officials are reiterating the department policies which restrict All-Terrain or Gas-powered Vehicles. Under-age drivers or non-licensed drivers are prohibited from operating vehicles on Gameday.

Tickets for next Saturday’s Southern-Jackson State game are available at the FG Clark Activity Center. For ticket information, call 225-771-3171. Fans are also encouraged to enter the stadium early for the pre-game battle of the band between Jackson State's Sonic Boom of the South and the Southern University Human Jukebox at 5 p.m.
