Week 10 SWAC Soccer Players of the Week

Southwestern Athletic Conference Logo - Go to homepageBIRMINGHAM, Alabama – Howard defender Kendall Macauly and Grambling State forward Kaylee Holt and goalie Rita Siaha have been recognized by the Southwestern Athletic Conference as soccer players of the week for their efforts during matches played October 19-21.

SWAC Offensive Player of the Week – Holt, who has scored a goal in the last six games and eight out of the last nine games, scored two game winners, as the Grambling State women’s soccer team continued its shutout streak with consecutive 1-0 wins over Alabama A&M and Alabama State.

SWAC Defensive Player of the Week – Macauly aided a Howard defensive effort that allowed one goal on 15 shots (eight on net). Additionally, the freshman defender added a goal and an assist during the team’s win over Southern. The Bison have conceded just one goal in its last eight matches.

SWAC Goalkeeper of the Week – Siaha picked up two shutout wins in net for the Lady Tigers, as Grambling downed Alabama State and Alabama A&M by scores of 1-0. The freshman netminder made seven total saves as GSU extended its shutout streak to six consecutive matches.
