Jackson, MS - Southern University football coach Stump Mitchell and Alabama State coach Reggie Barlow are standing behind JSU coach Rick Comegy.
Comegy, the 58-year-old sixth-year JSU coach, is in the last few months of his contract with the school.
"I don't think Coach Comegy is going to have a problem finding a job if they don't sign him to a contract (extension)," said Mitchell, whose Jaguars lost to JSU 28-24 last week. "I think they probably need to go ahead and do it, because he's a fantastic coach, and he's been successful every place that he's been."
Said Barlow, whose team faces JSU on Saturday: "This dude, all he does is win everywhere he goes."
