ERIE, Pennsylvania -- For the Gannon University women's basketball team, last season could be described as an off year. The Golden Knights, fresh off an appearance in the NCAA Division II Final Four, struggled through a 13-13 record, the worst record for Gannon since head coach Cleve Wright’s first season in Erie (12-14 in 2002-2003).“Last year was a tough one,” Wright said. “We struggled a little bit with some players coming in.”
The five seniors on that squad – which included four all-PSAC West selections: Kristina Freeman, Brittany Tabron, Carrie Nolan and Tiffany Crocker – comprised “probably 90 percent of our scoring and more than that of our defense,” Wright said.
