WINSTON-SALEM, North Carolina -- The Winston-Salem State baseball team will open the season today at Armstrong Atlantic State in a matchup of regional powers.
The Rams are two-time defending CIAA champions and were picked to finish first in the conference this season by D2BaseballNews.com. The Pirates are defending champions of the Peach Belt Conference.
Today’s first pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. in Savannah, Ga. The teams are scheduled to play a doubleheader on Saturday, starting at 11 a.m.
WSSU will play its home opener on Friday, Feb. 8, against Millersville at BB&T Ballpark.
