OXFORD, Mississippi -- Jackson State held its breath until the end of the NCAA Soccer Selection Show on Monday.
So did Ole Miss.
The Lady Tigers face the Lady Rebels in the first round of the NCAA Women’s Soccer Tournament 7 p.m. Friday at the Ole Miss Soccer Complex in Oxford.
“It’s great that it’s an in-state opponent,” Jackson State coach Dean Joseph said. “I think it’s something that brings a little more interest to the task.”
The Lady Tigers defeated Alabama State 1-0 Sunday to capture the 2013 SWAC championship, the second time in program history.
Junior goalkeeper Taylor Emerson was named the tournament’s MVP with 12 saves.
