DURHAM, North Carolina -- After falling behind 10-0 in the game’s opening two minutes, Bluefield State came back to edge N.C. Central 54-43 in a women’s non-conference basketball game at McDougald-McLendon Gymnasium Thursday.
The West Virginia visitors answered NCCU’s opening 10-0 salvo with an identical 10-0 run of its own to tie the game at 10-0 with 14:45 left in the first half.
For the half saw the two teams trade the lead five times and tie four more times before the Lady Blues (5-9) took a 24-22 lead into the half.
NCCU (5-6) could not regain momentum in the second half, only going ahead by as many as three in the closing five minutes of action.
