from THE EDITOR: FAMU Upends NCCU EAGLES – Makes Statement

TALLAHASSEE, Florida  -- The students, cheerleaders and Rattler Pep Band were all absent when FAMU beat FIU during the holidays at the Al Lawson Center. This time they got a chance to see for themselves that in spite of a losing record the Rattler men’s basketball team is intent on being a contender in the Mid Eastern Athletic Conference race. In dramatic fashion the Rattlers came from behind in the last few minutes to defeat perhaps one of the best teams in the MEAC, the North Carolina Central University Eagles 63-60. What really makes this win important for FAMU though is that there is still much room for improvement.
