JACKSON, Tennessee -- A little rust after a long break from games is expected, and that’s OK. A lack of effort is not OK.
Lane men’s basketball lost its conference opener to Fort Valley State (Ga.) 88-81 Thursday afternoon, and that was the main point on coach Bryanth Basemore’s mind in the moments afterward.
Lane trailed 13-2 to start the game, its first in nearly a month, but more troublingly the Dragons didn’t respond well after cutting their deficit to one point at halftime.
For Basemore, that means changes must be made before the Dragons’ next game Saturday.
