And he took a similar action.
Morgan turned down Jackson State's offer to become its next defensive coordinator, deciding to stay for Year 2 as Coahoma's head football coach.
"It was enticing, in the sense that the results from last year they were close in a lot of games," Morgan said. "But I thought about the staff here. I got five guys on the staff here. If I were to leave right now, they would be in a situation where they would be looking for work. ... And I think the fact that we didn't do very well last year was also a factor to come back and improve."
He said he told JSU coach Harold Jackson that he'd think about the offer over Christmas break and gave Jackson his decision on Sunday.
