ATLANTA, Georgia -- Morehouse got back on the winning track, with a 68-44 win over the Kentucky State Thorobreds.
The Green and Gold were no match for the Maroon and White who advanced to 8-6 (6-1 SIAC).
Anxious for a win after Thursday's loss to Stillman, which snapped a five-game win streak, Morehouse kept it close for the first nine minutes then sprinted away.
Morehouse held the Thorobreds to 29 percent shooting and out-rebound them 41-30.
Three Maroon Tigers posted double figures, led by Tyrone Brown who scored 10 of his game-high 15 points in the second half. Brown hit 3 of 6 shots from the field 9 of 11 from the free-throw line.
Morehouse shot a season-high 76 percent from the free-throw line, including 13 of 14 in the second half.
Austin Anderson poured in 11 points on a series of jumpers and acrobatic lay-ins. He collected three steals and two rebounds before tweaking his ankle and leaving the game.
Brandon Glover chipped in 10 points and two assists. Robert Askew had six points and eight rebounds and Javarius Gay contributed seven points and five rebounds.
Darrien Wilkins led the Thorobreds, with 12 points and 12 rebounds. KSU fell to 4-9 (3-4 SIAC).
The Maroon Tigers travel to Orangeburg, SC, Saturday, at 3:30 p.m., to play SIAC East Division rivals -- the Claflin University Panthers.
Morehouse returns home for more division rivalry, when Benedict comes to Forbes Arena, January 26, followed by Paine, January 29.
