It's now or never for JSU

JACKSON, Mississippi -- The time, essentially, is now for Jackson State.

If the Tigers hope to right the ship that has sailed to a poor start this season, the best time to turn it around will be when they face Alabama A&M at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Louis Crews Stadium in Huntsville, Alabama.

Harold Jackson is out, Derrick McCall is in as interim coach and the schedule is about to lighten up immensely.

JSU started the season with three road/neutral site games. The Tigers also played Southern and Grambling, two of the SWAC’s three best teams, in two of their first three conference games.

The result of those first five games was a 1-4 start, overall, and a 1-2 start in the SWAC. However, JSU’s next four games are against: the Bulldogs, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Mississippi Valley State and Alabama State.
