NEW ORLEANS -- The Alabama A&M basketball team got its season off on the right foot Friday with a 68-67 overtime win over Tulane.For Head Coach Willie Hayes, it was a little revenge because the Green Wave handed him a loss four years ago in his first game as the Bulldogs' coach.
Jacob Perry provided the winning basket on a layup with a little more than one second left in overtime. He made the basket after Nick West grabbed a rebound with 24 seconds left.
West had 20 points and eight rebounds in the game. Ladarius Tabb led all players with 22 points and nine rebounds before fouling out.
The Bulldogs led 25-19 at the half and held a 65-63 lead with 12 seconds left when Arthur Wade was called for his fifth foul and Tulane's made both free throws to tie the game.
Dabney was one of four Green Wave players to reach double figures in scoring.
