ELIZABETH CITY. North Carolina — Livingstone shot the basketball very well and rolled past Elizabeth City State, 70-49, here Thursday night in CIAA women’s action.
The Blue Bears, 9-4 overall and 3-0 in the conference, made almost half of their 3-point field goals (7-of-15) for the game. Livingstone enjoyed a 12-point lead at halftime and blew the Vikings out in the third quarter, going up by 24 points at 52-28 at the 2:16-mark.
Guard Zena Lovette scored 12 of her game-high 14 points during the third period, leading the Livingstone rout. Senior guard Amber Curtis also had a strong third period, scoring six of her 12 points.
The Vikings, 4-8 overall and 1-3 in the CIAA, prevailed in the fourth quarter, 15-12, but it was way too little too late.
