Reed, Kern and Collins to Speak at TSU National Alumni Association Convention

NASHVILLE, Tennessee -- The Athletic Department will be well represented at the Tennessee State University National Alumni Association Convention scheduled for June 14-17 in Atlanta, Ga. Among the plenary speakers will be head football coach Rod Reed, head women’s basketball coach Jessica Kern and head men’s basketball coach Brian “Penny” Collins on Friday, June 15.

The four-day convention will be held at Crown Plaza Midtown Hotel in Atlanta. This will be the 64th National Convention and includes a golf tournament, town hall meeting, guest speakers and an award ceremony, among other activities.

Reed is entering his ninth season as the head coach of the TSU football program. The Tigers are set to open the season on Sept. 1 at Nissan Stadium for the John Merritt Classic versus Bethune-Cookman.

Kern is about to start her second year at the helm for the Lady Tigers, while Collins was hired on March 26, 2018 to lead the men's basketball program.
