MONTGOMERY, Alabama -- The Alabama State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics released the 2018-19 non-conference men's basketball schedule Wednesday morning that features a pair of home games.
Alabama State opens the season on the road with a two-game Midwest road trip beginning with Iowa State on November 6. They will follow that up with a contest against NCAA Tournament foe, and an opponent they faced last season, South Dakota State in Brookings (
S.D.) November 8.
ASU MEN'S BASKETBALL SCHEDULE 2018-19
The Hornets return home for a pair of home games the following week before beginning seven-game road swing to end non-conference play. Alabama State faces LaGrange in their home opener November 11, followed by a contest against Birmingham-Southern at 7 pm on November 14.
Following those two games, Alabama State hits the road to face Iowa November 21, a game that will be carried on the Big Ten Network. They face Akron seven days later before a five-day road swing in the month of December. During that five-game stretch, the Hornets face Boise State (December 12) and Utah State (December 16) out West, before facing Sam Houston State (December 18). They conclude their non-conference schedule with a pair of games at the St. Pete Shootout, beginning with Liberty on December 21.
Alabama State opens conference play at home January 5 against Grambling, the first of nine games in Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) play at home.
