CHARLOTTE, North Carolina -- Johnson C. Smith University Department of Athletics has cancelled all athletic activities in preparation for the impact of Hurricane Florence. "We take the safety of our student-athletes, coaches and fans very seriously and have decided to act with an abundance of caution," said Director of Athletics Stephen Joyner Sr. "We are being proactive because of the impact that has been predicted for the Charlotte region."

The football game against Virginia Union University on Saturday, Sept. 15 has been cancelled.
The volleyball match against Shaw University scheduled for Monday, Sept. 17 has also been cancelled.
