HUNTSVILLE, Alabama -- The Alabama A&M University Men's Basketball program have recently partnered with Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary and Lakewood Elementary to make a positive impact on the youth of our community.
As part of the program, the team will visit the schools once a month to participate in an activity with the students and also serve as mentors. Some activities include: reading day, mentoring in small groups and assisting with gym class or recess.
"We are thrilled about the new partnership with Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary and Lakewood Elementary," Head Coach Dylan Howard said. "I believe the partnership will be a great experience for our student-athletes and the kids. We are hoping to making a huge impact while promoting physical activity and inspiring the kids to excel in their academics."
The Bulldogs will begin the 2018-19 season on November 6th when they travel to Tampa, FL to face South Florida. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
