A scout-team QB in '11, Riddick now NSU's No. 1 RB

NORFOLK, Virginia - From scout team to star in less than a year. A scout-team quarterback all last season, Brendon Riddick is the centerpiece of the Norfolk State offense at running back only two games into his career.

He's delivered NSU's biggest offensive play in two straight games. He sits second in the MEAC in rushing yards. After a 150-yard, three-touchdown effort last week, his weekly award total doubled his touchdown numbers.

He did radio interviews, newspaper interviews, and went from third string to sterling. "Twitter was the big thing," Riddick said. "Getting back from the game and seeing my name all over Twitter, people knowing my name. It was a little crazy."

After all that, Riddick didn't need help staying humble heading into this week's game against Howard. The Spartans took care of that last year. From scout team to star in less than a year.
