WINSTON-SALEM, North Carolina - As I do every week I check the AFCA Division II football poll and I found something interesting today.
Winston-Salem State, which is 3-0 and coming off a 55-21 win over Morehouse, remained at No. 5 in the poll. Top-ranked Pittsburg State, which is in Kansas, had 29 of the 30 first-place votes in the poll.
The other first-place vote went to the Rams.
When I called the folks who run the poll I wanted to find out which coach voted WSSU No. 1 but they don’t divulge that top-secret information.
The AFCA poll is put out each week by the American Football Coaches Association and is voted on by Division II coaches.
