WINSTON-SALEM, North Carolina - With CIAA conference play beginning this week, one game worth keeping an eye on is Bowie State (3-0) playing St. Augustine's (2-1) at Durham County Stadium on Saturday.
Bowie State, which has emerged as the possible team to beat in the Northern Division, is coming off a hard-fought 24-17 win against Fairmont State.
"We're excited about the opportunity to play this week against a good St. Aug's team," coach Damon Wilson of the Bulldogs said.
The Bulldogs aren't ranked in any of the Division II major polls, but that doesn't matter to Wilson.
"We don't pay attention to the polls," Wilson said. "We are all about finishing our games off and that's something we didn't do very well last season."
The conference office is promoting this game as the game of the week, something coach Michael Costa of St. Aug's said he noticed.
