Tri-City Classic returning to Cameron Field

PETERSBURG, Virginia - Historic Cameron Field has been the site of many college football games over the years and Virginia University of Lynchburg will return Nov. 3 to battle the Alderson-Broaddus (W.Va.) College Battlers in the second annual Tri-City Classic.

Virginia University of Lynchburg coach Willard Bailey, a veteran of 39 years in the college ranks, has always enjoyed playing at Cameron Field.

Bailey served as head coach at Virginia Union, Norfolk State, and St. Paul's before moving to Virginia University of Lynchburg as head football coach and athletic director.

Virginia University of Lynchburg is a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association.

"I've always enjoyed playing at Cameron field," Bailey said. "When I was at St. Paul's, we played there three or four times. It's a beautiful place in the fall on a Saturday afternoon. Plus, Petersburg is a good recruiting area."

Last fall the Virginia Dragons lost a heartbreaker to Concordia (Ala.) College, 18-16 at Cameron Field.
