Brandon’s Anderson signs with FAMU

BRANDON, Florida  --  Brandon High pitcher Ryan Anderson has signed to play baseball with Florida A&M University. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound righty made 15 appearances for the Eagles this season posting a 6-5 record, with a 1.12 ERA and 52 strikeouts.

Anderson also batted .292 with 17 runs, 20 RBIs and three home runs on the season.
Anderson said he had been talking with FAMU’s coaches throughout the season and took a visit to see the baseball team play this season, but at last month’s Senior All-Star Challenge, Anderson pitched a scoreless inning in front of Rattlers’ head coach Jamey Shouppe.
“I knew (Coach Shouppe) was at the game and had heard a few things about me,” Anderson said. “But after the game, he said he was impressed and it went from there.”
