Grambling will need ‘flawless’ performance to beat Alcorn

GRAMBLING, Louisiana — To be the champs a team must first beat the champs.

Grambling has aspirations of winning a Southwestern Athletic Conference title in 2015, a feat that will likely go through defending champion Alcorn State in December.

This weekend’s matchup between the Tigers and the Braves, which will be broadcast on ESPN3, is a potential preview of what fans might see in the SWAC title game in Houston. It's also a game Grambling feels will need to played close to perfect.

“We have to go over there in a hostile environment and really come away with a victory,” Grambling coach Broderick Fobbs said. “They’re scoring a lot of points and they’re stopping people from scoring. We have to play a flawless performance in order to be there standing at the end.”
