JACKSON, Mississippi -- Brent the chance for Jackson State to sit at 4-2 in the SWAC and 9-10 overall at this point of the year, there wouldn't have been much hesitation on his part."I really would (have). Because I've been on the other end and I've been 2-4. A lot of people don't understand how tough it is to dig a program out of the hole," Brent said. "To see where this program has come in two or three years, we didn't come into a situation where we already had guys that were here winning."
The Tigers are currently tied for second place in the conference with Southern and Alcorn State through six games, and they'll look to keep pace with those teams when they host Grambling at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Lee E. Williams AAC.
Under Brent, JSU was 2-4 each of the past two seasons through the first six SWAC games. So it's a much better circumstance for the Tigers this season, now that the wins and losses have been flipped.
