Lady Tigers defeat Jackson State behind Vines 24 points

JACKSON, Mississippi – Texas Southern remains undefeated in conference play as the Lady Tigers pushed past Jackson State 62-36 on Saturday afternoon. TSU is currently ranked first in the SWAC, while JSU stands second.

Twenty-four points, four rebounds, five blocks, two steals and one assist came from game leader Keiana Vines. She went 11-for-12 in shooting and 2-for-3 at the line.

Toni Cheadle put up 11 points and seven rebounds, while Brianna Sidney managed 10 points while grabbing six boards.

JSU was held with single digit scorers as they were led by Bridgette Robinson, Kierra Adams and Daisha Williams each netting eight points with Robinson gaining a team-high six rebounds.

Defensively, TSU held JSU to shooting 22.8 percent from the field and 15.4 percent in three-point range, while the Lady Tigers shot 49 percent from the field.
