Livingstone Football Snaps 14 Game Losing Streak

MarcusBaisyIRMO, South Carolina – Livingstone College football team snaps a 14 game losing streaking beating Allen University 19-0, in W.C. Hawkins Stadium, in Irmo, South Carolina on a hot and hazy, Saturday afternoon.

The last win for Livingstone (1-1) was nearly two years ago in October on, when it defeated Shaw University 23-12, before ending the season on a three-game losing skid and going winless in 2017. The last time the Blue Bears shut out a team was in 2003, when the Blue Bears defeated Elizabeth City State 19-0.

Livingstone's Quarterback Miles Hayes went 11 of 23 passing for 114 yards and had an interception. Running back Marcus Baisy, Jr., led LC in rushing with 76 yards on the ground. Justin Ruffin added 22 yards and a touchdown on the day.

Wide Receiver DeAndre Vickers finished with 52 yards on two catches for the day.

Defensively, the Blue Bears was led by Teyan Williams who collected six tackles and a forced fumble while Armond Cox tallied four tackles and a sack and recovered a fumble.

As a team the Blue Bears rushed for 189 yards and passed for 114 yards for a total of 303 yards on the day.

Next week, Livingstone will travel to Jackson, Tennessee to take on SIAC foe Lane College for a 2 p.m. (CST) kickoff.
