About The Game
The Langston Lions and the Ottawa-Arizona Spirit square off for the first time in both program's history. This is the inaugural season of football for the Ottawa-Arizona Spirit. The 2018 season also marks the first season the Langston Lions will compete as members of the Sooner Athletic Conference.
Langston is led by fourth-year head coach Quinton Morgan who holds a 21-4 win-loss record. Most recently, Morgan led the Lions to a perfect 10-0 regular season, clinched the Central States Football League conference title and received an automatic postseason berth in the NAIA Football Championship Series first round. It was Langston's seventh postseason appearance during their time in the NAIA and first playoff trip since 2014.
The Spirit are led by first-year head coach Mike Nesbitt; Nesbitt most recently served as the head coach at West Texas A&M University for four seasons.
