Grambling State hands TSU Tigers 34-21 home loss
HOUSTON, Texas -- The Texas Southern Tigers lost their fifth consecutive game falling at home to the Grambling State Tigers 34-21 at BBVA Compass Stadium.
Texas Southern trailed 14-7 at halftime before surrendering 20 additional points to GSU in the second half. GSU took its largest lead of the contest at the 2:43 mark of the third quarter at 31-14.
The Tigers would add a score to start the fourth quarter but Grambling State was able to close the doors on a Tigers rally by holding TSU scoreless the remainder of the way while also adding a field goal with 8:01 remaining in regulation.
BOX SCORE
Grambling State amassed 529 yards of total offense (184 R, 345 P) while TSU tallied 370 total yards of offense (58 R, 312 P).
Texas Southern will now get set to travel to face Southern next week in Dallas in the State Fair Showdown at the Cotton Bowl.
