READING, Pennsylvania (Oct. 15, 2018) -- The Delaware State bowling team posted a 4-1 record on day two of the season opening Bud Whitman Memorial Tournament on Sunday. The Hornets, however, were seventh in the overall standings (out of 20 teams) with a total pinfall of 4,430 (177.2 avg.) in the five traditional contests.
Delaware State began the day with wins over Chestnut Hill (926-842) and Daemen College (830-829) before suffering a loss to Wilmington (787-849). The Hornets wrapped up the day with victories over Howard (925-770) and Youngstown State (962-868).
DSU had a 7-3 won-loss record in the two-day tournament.
The Hornets placed two on the Sunday all-tournament team. Alexis Neuer (jr.) earned all-tournament recognition after posted a total pinfall of 1,000 (200.0 avg.) in five games. Neuer topped the 200-mark in two games, including a high of 226.
Delaware State’s Stefany Toala (fr.) was also selected to the Bud Whitman All-Tournament Team after recording a total pinfall of 968 in five games. Toala also posted the DSU high of 278 in the finale against Youngstown State.
