Miles College to face tough passing attack against Lane Saturday

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama -- After pummeling Kentucky State 45-0 on the road last week, Miles College will seek to spoil its second homecoming in a row when it travels to Jackson, Tenn. Saturday to face Lane College in a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference showdown.

Miles, the defending conference champions, held Thorobreds running back Justin Williams to 61 yards on 14 carries in its first shutout of the season. The Golden Bears (6-1, 4-0) will likely see an entirely different look when they take to the field to face the Dragons, who operate the conference's third-rated pass offense.

Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Lane Field.

"I told them," Miles coach Reginald Ruffin said, referring to his team's secondary. "They're going to earn their money's worth this week because of what Lane does."
