Harris, a 6-foot-3, 230-pound linebacker and end from Concord, transferred from Charleston Southern to Winston-Salem State last year, but he didn't have the grades to be eligible for the 2011 season.

Harris, 23, attended junior college after high school, then played the 2010 season at Charleston Southern.
