PINE BLUFF, Arkansas -- The Texas Southern University women's basketball team won their 12th consecutive game defeating Arkansas-Pine Bluff in impressive fashion on the road Monday night 67-64.
TSU's Jazzmin Parker erupted for 27 points going an efficient 9-of-15 from the floor while connecting on 5-of-7 free throw attempts. The Lady Tigers and Lady Lions went into the break tied at 30 after a back and forth half between the two teams.
Texas Southern took a 66-58 advantage after a Brianna Sidney three point basket with 47 seconds left to play in regulation. The Lady Lions chipped away at the lead after two successful late three pointers from Christina Lasane.
A three point attempt by UAPB in the closing seconds fell short as Texas Southern got the win on the road while moving into first place in the SWAC regular season race with a 13-1 overall conference mark.
The Lady Tigers will now get set to host their final two home games of the 2013-14 campaign as they get set to face Alabama A&M and Alabama State respectively. TSU will host AAMU on Saturday, March 1st at the H&PE Arena at 5:30 pm.
