Streaking Grambling visits Southern

BATON ROUGE, Louisiana — The Grambling State Tigers take a three-game winning streak to Baton Rouge as they face the Southern Jaguars in a 4 p.m. game.

Grambling is currently 2-0 in the SWAC and tied for first place along with Jackson State and Texas Southern. Grambling is 5-9 overall.

Southern, meanwhile, is 0-2 in the conference and 8-7 overall. The Jaguars have lost three consecutive games.

Grambling and Southern will present contrasting styles.

Southern leads the SWAC in scoring at 73.1 points per game. Grambling is second in the SWAC in scoring defense at 70.6 points per game.

Grambling’s Nigel Riberio leads the scoring at 14 points per game. He is seventh in the conference in scoring. His teammate Remond Brown is 12th in the league in scoring at 11.8 points per game.
