HOUSTON, Texas -- The Texas Southern men's basketball team went from road underdog in non-conference play to the upper echelon in SWAC play.
So far, the Tigers have responded well.
TSU opened SWAC play with an 88-66 win over Southern and a 74-58 win over Alcorn State at home.
Those wins snapped a seven-game losing streak and put the Tigers (3-11) out in front in the early goings of SWAC play.
Everything that ailed TSU in those stout non-conference road games - mid-game lulls, wasted possessions, turnovers - hasn't shown up in SWAC play much.
What's more, TSU head coach Mike Davis sees how much finally playing at home means to his players.
