JACKSON, Mississippi -- Plans for Jackson State’s 50,000-seated stadium are still alive.Earlier this week, state Sen. Kenneth Jones (D-Canton) filed a bill in the Legislature to establish a special fund for the stadium to be used for the facility’s establishment, maintenance and operation.
In the Senate Bill No. 2920, money in the fund would come from a 7 percent tax levied on revenues from stadium activities and placed in the special tax fund. Legislators would have to appropriate revenues from the special fund to the dome on an annual basis.
