RALEIGH, North Carolina - The Shaw University football team has received National Letters of Intent (NLI) from ten players, it was announced Friday.
"Most importantly, we recruited good students," said Shaw head coach Robert Massey. "They're also good football players and young men that will have a positive influence on this campus."
The signees include four offensive linemen and four linebackers.
"We looked to fill our two biggest needs," said Massey. "We needed offensive linemen and linebackers. We succeeded in meeting those needs with this incoming class. We have players here who can make an immediate impact."
The ten signees are:

Julian Jackson, 5-11, 220, LB, Charlotte, NC, NW Cabarrus HS
Dominique Mims, 5-10, 220, LB/LS, Durham, NC, Southern Durham HS
Joshon Perry, 6-3, 280, OL, Louisburg, NC, Franklinton HS
Khalil Reese, 6-2, 285, OL, Desoto, TX, Hyde Prep
Brandon Thompson, 6-3, 320, OL, Durham, NC, Hillside HS
Zedrious Wright-Starks, 6-3, 300, OL Atlanta, GA, ASA (Atlanta)
Last season, the Bears were 6-4 overall and 4-3 in the CIAA.
