GRAMBLING, LA -- Grant Maxey's game-high 20 points included the jump shot that put Jackson State ahead with four seconds left to beat Grambling State 67-65. Maxey was 9-for-9 from the field and 2-for-3 from the foul line for Jackson State (11-16, 9-5 SWAC).
Jackson State was ahead for the entire first half, which ended 35-31, and led 47-35 with 16:03 left in the game. But a 3-pointer by Andre Ratliff sparked a 21-2 run that put Grambling up 56-49 with 8:46 to go.
Grambling's Anthony Williams hit a jump shot to tie the game at 65-all before Maxey's last basket. Williams finished with 13 points and nine rebounds for Grambling (6-15, 6-8).
