Dover, DE – The Delaware State University football Coach Al Lavan announced the signing of 19 recruits and nine players who are enrolled for the 2008 spring semester that he feels is the best class since he took over the helm in 2004.
“This is the best group of kids we have brought in from top to bottom since I have been here,” said Coach Lavan.
Among the group are four junior college transfers and two Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) transfers. The recruiting class includes five defensive lineman, three offensive lineman, two quarterbacks, four wide receivers, four linebackers, five defensive backs, two tight ends, one running back and one long snapper.

DSU finished 2007 as the MEAC Champions with no conference losses, and went to the first round of the FCS Playoffs where they were soundly beaten by the University of Delaware. The Hornets ended the season at 10-2 and are expected to defend the title vigorously with this talented group of newcomers to the conference.
