NORFOLK, VA - Dennis Brown stepped out of the car after driving 10 hours from Storrs, Conn. He had never set foot on Norfolk State’s campus but wasn’t in the mood for a tour. He wanted to watch film, maybe lift some weights. He asked football coach Pete Adrian for keys to the weight room. “Dennis, let’s get you settled in a room first,” Adrian recommended.
Don’t blame Brown if he’s a little overeager. The former Connecticut quarterback said it feels as if he has waited forever for an opportunity to show off his arm strength and athletic ability. “I was out running the stadium stairs at 7 the next morning,” said Brown, 6-foot-3 and 196 pounds.
