GRAMBLING, Louisiana -- As part of Broderick Fobbs' "What's Important Now" (W.I.N.) motto as Grambling's football coach, there are weekly references to how the Tigers plan to stay focused and avoid any letdowns.
This week, which happens to be homecoming, takes us to track and field.
"We always look at things like a 100-meter race. It's not about who you're running against, it's about you and your form and coming out of the blocks at a particular time and you running your race the way you're supposed to run," Fobbs said Monday.
"It's really not about the opponent. It's about playing the way we're capable of playing. That's really our focus."
The message came after questions of the Tigers' readiness for an upcoming three-game stretch that looks like a cakewalk on paper. Mississippi Valley State, Texas Southern and Arkansas-Pine Bluff — Grambling's next three opponents — have a combined 4-15 record.
