Tuskegee Hits the Road to Face Kentucky State on Saturday

TUSKEGEE, Alabama -- For the fourth time in five weeks, the 18th-ranked Tuskegee University Golden Tigers hit the road as they travel to Frankfort (Ky.) to face Kentucky State University in a key SIAC West Division battle on Saturday.

Tuskegee (6-1, 5-0 SIAC, 2-0 West) has won three of the four matchups on the road, including wins over conference foes Lane and Morehouse.

The Golden Tigers are coming off a 49-20 victory over Stillman in which they piled up over 400 yards of total offense, while holding their opponents to just 165. This season, the Golden Tigers are holding their opponents to just over 11 points per game, while in their five losses Kentucky State is averaging just over 11 points per game.

Tuskegee (5 SBN/5 BOXTOROW/1 HSRN) leads the all-time series over Kentucky State 16-9, including winning seven of the last eight meetings. The series between the two schools dates back to 1907, before taking 26 years between games as it resumed in 1934.

Kentucky State (2-5, 2-2 SIAC, 1-1 West) won the first eight games of the series (1907, 1934-38, 1995-96), while Tuskegee won the next 13 in the series. The Golden Tigers have won three of the last four meetings dating back to 2011, and 16 of the last 17 meetings dating back to 1997 (did not play in 2006).
